Thrilled To Be Joining Dr Mark Hyman On Stage in April

I’m thrilled to share that Dr Mark Hyman is coming to the UK in April for two brilliant lectures and to officially launch his new book in the UK and I am honoured to have been invited to share some time on stage with him.

Dr Mark Hyman, MD, Chairman of IFM (; Director of the Cleveland Clinic Center for Functional Medicine; founder of The UltraWellness Center and a multiple New York Times best-selling author. His latest book, Eat Fat Get Thin, has just been released.

I’m aware that some of you may not have heard his name before or be familiar with his excellent work, books, research or teachings but he has been a tremendous source of inspiration to me in my own journey in nutritional therapy and he continues to be a leading visionary light for me. If I had to choose a nutritional hero pin-up, Mark would be it!

Mark is highly esteemed in the US as an authoritative and leading advocator of Functional Medicine, and with nine best selling books under his belt, he is well known beyond the nutritional community there. What is Functional Medicine?: Click here for more info.

Eat Fat Get Thin: Why the Fat We Eat Is the Key to Sustained Weight Loss and Vibrant Health

Dr Mark Hyman's latest book: A revolutionary new diet program based on the latest science showing the importance of fat in weight loss and overall health.
"For forty years, we've been told, 'if you don't want fat on your body, don't put fat into your body.' So we cut back on fat from our diet only to become heavier than ever before. Mark Hyman cuts through the confusion, offering a practical (and delicious) way to lose weight for good. I recommend Eat Fat, Get Thin enthusiastically."  David Ludwig, MD, Harvard Medical School

When I first heard him speak, I was already established in my career as a Nutritional Therapist but his words profoundly resonated with my beliefs - that food, our emotional and physical relationship with it, and how we prepare, eat (and enjoy) it, is core to our optimal wellbeing. He has a brilliant ability to strip back complex information, and he challenges and exposes much of what has become wrongful, commonplace belief - for instance, that all fats are harmful - and instead provides strong and persuasive argument that food may well be our most potent tool in combating underlying illness and disease. And yes, he is a doctor, not a nutritionist.

My first experience with the Institute of Functional Medicine was in 2011 when I completed the UK’s inaugural course in “Applying Functional Medicine in Clinical Practice, UK”: a 5 day course teaching UK practitioners the principles of Functional Medicine and its use with clients in their own clinics. The course at that time predominantly comprised only natural healthcare practitioners. Just five years later and attendance by conventional health practitioners has soared, making up over 50% of registrants.

I continue to be passionate about Functional Medicine and regularly fly to the US to work my way through IFM’s modules – their teaching is cutting edge and always challenges me to delve deeper and deeper. I come away feeling more informed, empowered and eager to apply what I have learned in my own clinic.

I’m honoured to have been invited to join him onstage to talk about my work as a Functional Medicine practitioner, my journey, how I set up and how I work with clients.

I have listened to Mark speak many times at IFM conferences and lectures – he has a wonderful way of dispelling complex science, talking no nonsense facts and inspiring people to think outside the box. I really value the opportunity to hear him speak and hope you will join me at one or both of these events in April.
