I am feeling so grateful that Mabel is still here, which on Thursday seemed completely unlikely. I am also lucky enough to work with really kind and decent people. @bev_james thank you so much for being so kind and supportive to me. @michellesignore thank you for being so patient and supportive too. @clarewinfield, @troy_willis_ and @emmalahayestylist I can’t thank you enough for being so flexible and gentle. And my own team for always being brilliant and super. Things don’t always go to plan, or as we hope. But good people and kindness really make things better. Hope you all have a lovely week, A x 💚 ps if you want a chuckle, check out willow’s contribution to our meal plan for this week in my stories x

I have always found solace in nature, and I am not I have always found solace in nature, and I am not sure there are many more therapeutic and relaxing activities for my mind than quietly planting, pricking out and tending to my seedlings or browsing the garden for a little posy of flowers.

We are right in the middle of the “Hungry Gap” here in the UK. Those few weeks between April and early June when the winter vegetable crops have ended, but the new ones aren’t yet ready to pick. A time that is traditionally pretty repetitive in terms of seasonal produce. But for me, that repetition can also spark great excitement and anticipation for the summery flavours, scents and flowers to come. These May peonies are the first of the year, and are bringing a beautiful and hope-filled ray of sunshine into our home. I hope you’re all well. A x

There are many times in life when we need quick, c There are many times in life when we need quick, comforting, filling food. Times when aiming for culinary or nutrition excellence is impossible. Times when I find myself turning to a few consistent favourites to nourish weary minds and bodies with minimal thought or time.

For me recently, that’s been easy throw-together salads, quick soups and a good few veggie frittatas. No recipe recipes, really.

For the frittata, I just add some pre-cooked or roasted veg into a shallow pan (or quickly saute some), add beaten eggs (I usually allow about 2 per person), season, and bake until set. It’s that easy. Just as good cold as it is freshly cooked, it also works for any meal of the day. I hope it might be a helpful idea for some of you too. A x

UPDATE: Thank you so much for all of your thoughtf UPDATE: Thank you so much for all of your thoughtful and supportive messages. You are all so lovely. Mabel is still in ICU but we are hopeful she will respond to treatment. 🙏🏻❤️

Thank you for your kind wishes in response to my post yesterday. Our precious Mabel is now in intensive care with an infection in her heart. We can’t be with her and so it’s a horrific waiting game to see if she responds to treatment or not. 💔
