Thank you so much for all the wonderful comments o Thank you so much for all the wonderful comments over the last couple of days since the announcement of my new book, The Organised Cook. I’ve read each and every comment and your support means the world. Thank you also to all of you who have pre-ordered, it really does help me as it guides the retailers on how many books they choose to order and stock 🙏🏻 (if you haven’t yet, click the link in my profile 🥰). I picked these flowers from the garden today, and they are for all of you! I can’t wait for you all to read it. Wishing you all a lovely weekend, A x #theorganisedcook #flowersfromthegarden
Wow yesterday was such an exciting day, I can’t Wow yesterday was such an exciting day, I can’t believe we could finally reveal what we’ve been working on - thank you all so much for all of your pre-orders, it truly means the world to me. Thank you a million times over, what a community we have built on here.

Having spent most of lockdown writing this, pinging edits and drafts back and forth it was such a joy to come together on set (my house) to shoot all of the images for the book. It was incredibly emotional to finally see everything come together, and to celebrate all of the work, in person, with all of the team around me. Can you tell from this behind-the-scenes how happy I was? Absolute magic.

The Organised Cook shares with you all of the top-tips and how-to’s I’ve learned over the years. From organising, to planning and shopping to clearing and eating your way to a calm and healthy diet – it was so great to get everything down on paper and share with you all. If you would like to pre-order, please head to the link in my bio. I can’t wait for you all to read it!

As always, it takes a huge amount of work from many talented people to create a book and I am so lucky I got to work with such a wonderful gang on the photoshoot. Huge thanks to everyone who played a part.

I’m so excited to finally be able to share with I’m so excited to finally be able to share with you what we’ve been working on for well… years! May I FINALLY introduce you to my 5th book, The Organised Cook. In it, we Organise, Plan, Shop, Cook, Clear and Eat our way to a calm & healthy diet.

The Organised Cook joins the dots between wanting to eat well & the everyday reality of putting that into practice. This book isn't going to tell you what to eat, or why healthy eating is important (I’ve covered this in my other books); but it is going to tell you how to do it in amongst the busy reality of everyday life – most especially when time, money, energy & motivation is short. You will learn:

📖 How to organise your fridge, cupboards & equipment to maximise efficiency & healthy choices
📖 How to shop smarter & avoid overspending or being persuaded to buy things you don't need
📖 How to cook & clear as quickly as possible
📖 Why making a weekly meal plan can be a game-changer for busy households, & how to do it
📖 How to understand food labels & nutrition information so you can make informed choices when shopping
📖 Why the way we eat is so important to our overall health & what to do about it
📖 The unexpected impact that our crockery & serving habits have on our food choices
📖 70 new versatile, easy & tasty recipes so you’ll always have a healthy meal to hand (+ a 7-day nutritionally balanced meal plan)

And so, so much more…

Pre-orders are really important so if you feel like this book appeals to you, I'd be so grateful if you would consider pre-ordering. To show my gratitude, I'd like to offer a prize to one of you to win a one hour 1-to-1 video call with me to get personalised advice on optimising kitchen organisation in your home, as well as talking through any practical challenges you’re facing. I'll suggest great recipes to suit you & answer any burning healthy eating questions you might have. To enter, forward confirmation of your order to theorganisedcook@ameliafreer.com. A winner will be picked at random on publication day, 8th Dec 2022. Entries after this date will not be included. The winner will be contacted by email by 10th Dec to arrange the call. Thank you so much for your support! A x
On the menu this evening is my very simple red pep On the menu this evening is my very simple red pepper sauce served with pasta (or fish or chicken or beans if you prefer). But we are going to have it with red lentil pasta and a crisp green salad. It’s a delight to use our first home grown peppers from the greenhouse this year. And this recipe couldn’t be easier or quicker to make. And it’s yummy too. You can find the recipe on page 240 of my 4th book, Simply Good For You. What are you all having tonight? A x

AD | We are coming to the end of Plastic Free July AD | We are coming to the end of Plastic Free July, and it’s had me thinking about the ways I’ve been trying to cut down on plastic in the kitchen. I do a LOT of washing up (comes with the territory when you’re cooking and recipe testing so much), and I reckon I get through about 1 bottle of washing up liquid a week. That’s 52 bottles a year, 520 over ten years. Yet it’s estimated that only around 9% of plastic waste is recycled appropriately. And that’s just one product I bring into my home…

I am therefore really grateful to @bowercollective , who I’ve been using for over two years now, as they provide refills for pretty much all our home and personal care products (including washing up liquid). I order the refill pouches online, decant them into the lovely glass containers, and then post back the empties in the pre-paid envelopes. It’s so simple. Not only does Bower Collective help REDUCE the plastic coming into my home, they handle the REUSE, and cut down on the need for potentially unreliable RECYCLING. I genuinely love this system, and wouldn’t recommend them unless I think you will too. Click the link in my bio for their Kitchen Bundle which is now 40% off.

It’s a great cooling pudding to serve to friends this summer. If you’d like the recipe, click the link in my bio and do let me know which fruits you use if you make it. Hope you’re having a lovely week, A x
